Panels for gauges

Post by FaanP »

Hi,

I'm busy designing new panels to hold gauges for the beetle.

This is how far I'm at the moment. The plan is to 3d print them. I still need to do the "holder" for the rev counter.

Hi FaanP

I have been meaning to do some 3d prints for the VW's too but never got around to doing it. Very nice work did you draw it yourself? What software are you using? Will you be printing it yourself?

Yip, I'll be printing it myself. I'm using Rhino 3D to draw it.

Thanks

So I thought that the current face plates on the gauges is not going to fit with the rest of my car. I decided to turn them into Wolfsburg face plates :P

Very nice touch! Why not just change the oil pressure face to metric units as well, while you're at it?

Very nice what do you use to print it? Temperature in a car can get quite high.

Should be fine as most dash attachments are ABS.

Nice work

Me I would make the writing smaller on the bottom and add VDO under it, Yes I know, but its not for resale.......

Thats just me.

Looking good

Thanks Herman.

I did add the VDO logo at the bottom. Will share the results over the weekend. Hopefully :D
