I think the subject line explains that. Richard is looking for feedback on Beetle Odds & Sods in Mossel Bay.

ah, my mistake, I thought it was an advert for all sorts of beetle odds and sods, not a company called Beetle Odds and Sods.

I hope its not the guy who used to own the now liquidated Best Beetle in Cape Town. If it is, stay very far away! I think he also operates from Mosselbaai.

OK, I dont want to stir up anything as I havent had a run in with the person in question in a long long time and I doubt he even remembers me, but I'll be diplomatic

There used to be a site owned by someone in the UK which was dedicated to the crap the Best Beetle was. Now if you go to that site, it links you directly to beetleoddsandends.com
www.bestbeetle.co.za - so there is a link of sorts.
Another few nice website links dedicated to bestbeetle
https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/ ... -cape-town
https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread ... s-Tourists
http://savagefilms.net/best-beetle-fail/
http://britishexpats.com/forum/rec-trav ... wn-203469/
and I am sure a few more minutes online will lead to even more - so I am sure you can get an idea of what the company was and how the owner operated.

So these are the facts of the company that was owned by the person in question.
I wouldnt call this person a con artist, he probably has a lot of experience and knowledge, but I wouldnt trust him.
My wife also had a few run ins with him for different reasons and she thinks he is a wheeler dealer who will do anything to get your money and then leave you with a piss poor quality product.
I also know people who rented from him for a few years and he never once fixed any of the problems that they listed and complained about - basically the landlord you dont want.

I am going out on a limb here.
I know that he sold his old company and am guessing that it is now run under new management and called "funcar".
I wish these people all the best and I hope they get the quality and condition of the cars up from the unroadworthy mess that they once were. Good luck to you guys!

Yes Jacques.

I have no complaint against these guys, although I've heard many others' experiences with them.

I was just saying. FWIW.
