Blacksmith tools
Hi all
Not a vw vehicle but still aircooled.
I am looking for a Blacksmith Forge
My youngest wants to be a blacksmith (he loves making swords and blades) so i am looking for a forge or any blacksmith tools that will help.
This is his first course that he attended.

Re: Blacksmith tools
I know someone who was making them a while back - I'll hit them up and pass on his details if he's still doing them

@ Terry
Thanks, yes he loves the series Forged in fire and cant think of the other one. I have no problem with it if that is what he wants to do (these days it best to do your own thing). he has attended 2 courses at Drakon Forge in Pretoria and came away with a knife made from Rebar.
@ Dixtoy
No anvil as yet, is that one for sale and how much? the ones I have seen are really buggered and cost a fortune he does have 2 hammers though.
I am trying to make a homemade forge for him at first until I can get a proper one, then we intend to build a gas forge, already have the vessel and a couple of other items just look for place that sell fire cement.

Re: Blacksmith tools
Thanks for the info slak
We have already researched the home built forge using a cheap hair dryer and coal. then we/I will start looking for the old school design forge that uses the blower and then if he is still keen I will build the propane forge.
but thanks for the leads I am specialy interested in the anvils.co

You can get the fire bricks and fire cement at Cullinan refractory in Oilifandsfontein.64 Notchback wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 6:44 am @ Terry
