Insurance

Post by husteds »

I insured my Splitty through Outsuracne, but they didn't have a '68 Fleetline on their files. They also only had the value at about a fifth of what i paid, so i had to nominate a value. Have any of you guys got some good insurance tips and lead for me. Oh yes, my van doesn't lock at all - is that problematic?

Don't even bother with outsurance. They're crap.

I had my old beetle insured with hollard and the cover price was R35 000 even though the value according to them was under R10 000.

I had to obtain quotes from local clubs stating the value of the car as well as a complete history of the car and what I have spent on the restoration.

I also had to pay for an assesor to come out and check the car as well. A huge schlep, but at the day, it was worth it.
