Hi ive just had fitted a set of webber carbs 34ict pict but running great on idle. When engine warmed up and i take it for a run it is lacking power in first and second gear but goes great in third gear, can you tell me what size jets are correct for them to be running realy good. Any advice would be much appriciated thanks

Forgot to mention that when its sat on tickover it smells alot of petrol from exhaust

This sounds like you fuel pump is too strong for the Webers.

You need a low pressure pump,it must be as low as 1.5 to2.5 bar only, anything higher and she will push past the floats.

Also see that you have the vacuum balancing tube between your two carbs manifolds, must be at least 8 to 10 mm inside size.

And you need to have a vacuum tube from each carb with a "T" piece and then to your vacuum point on your distributor.

Also set up each carb without linkage connections joined, till they are balanced, then only join the accelerator peddle linkages to operate both card, perfectly in unison.

He means psi, not bar

Totally correct Tony, late night slip..Thank you

The jet sizes I would think are right as you say it runs well in 3rd gear.

But have a look, it should be 145 Main Jet, and 55 Idea Jet for your 2000cc motor.

If she runs a bit hot, go 1 size up on your main jet, but this should not be necessary.
