Hello again

Post by Obelix »

Well it has been a long, hard, sad and interesting 3 years since my last appearance on this forum. I hope that I am still welcome and that there is still some old faces around. Loads of stuff happened some great, some really sad, but I have weathered it all and is back in the VW world. Just wanted to say hi.

Hi Buggy, yes it is still going strong. Working way to many hours, but I am my own boss and that ease the pain a little. Here in Omaha it is hot, darn hot, did I mention it is hot, well it is hot. How are things in the VW world your side of the pond. I have gotten back into the aircooled world by getting a Karmann Ghia T34 to restore, it was kinda to keep my mind of some bad things. Loads to do still.

That Karmann Ghia is my favourite shape. The front looks like an angry face!

Thank you one and all, yes it is good to be back among like minded people. It has been a long time, but all is good now. Fig, thanks for thinking of me, you know I have a few items here that I have set aside for you and was going to mail to you. The T34 was actually a gift from a friend of mine, I needed something to keep me going and he thought a car would be just the thing. It is going to be a long resto/mod to get it going. Parts are not that freely available here either, and the ones you can find cost an arm and a leg, that's why a resto/mod. Restore what I can and mod the rest.

It is great to see some old and well know names here, and the new one's we will get to know each other over time. We all have one passion, aircooled VW's and for me toy's, lots of toys. Do any of you still collect diecast toys? I had taken a few years off, but is back into the game again. Some really nice one's coming up.
