My blue 1975 Fleetline bus

Post by sean »

Here is my latest addition. Its a 1975 Fleetline, but what makes this bus special is its originality. It has its original paint and interior.

This bus has belonged to 2 previous forum members and I'm very glad its now mine to be preserved further. Its in excellent mechanical condition and has a lovely motor rebuild by Bill Noble. I was even able to just switch on the heater on my way home. 8)

Here are a few pics from last weekend when I went to take a look at it.

It was from upcountry, Parys originally I believe, but its previous owner had just moved to the Cape, so that saved me a trip up to JHB. It was just a lovely 160km away and we took the scenic road back along the coast. It really drives well.

Hey, this is your fault. You came and showed up with that lovely original single cab and I made a mistake not to buy it. Then you come and carry on about this lovely original fleetline you had seen...

I couldn't make the same mistake again :(
