So post my road trip to Sutherland, my motor was burning plenty oil and needed building. Bores were shot and bearings nearly done. Also discovered that the case had been shimmed on the main, around the bearing as well as under the thrust face.
So now have everything back from machining and balancing and am starting to assemble. Will be posting pics and my queries for your input. Hoping this doesn't take too long but let's see.
First issue is the distributor shaft, didn't want to come out, so I have sprayed in Q20 and will try free it later... any tips on this?
Next want to trial fit the crank but need to find the bearing dowels first...

Bit more info. Stock build, balancing only, Tony heads. This is going into the 71 westy as the trusty motor. I have another case I want to for a warm motor.
