Not wanting to make this thread serious, but what these guys on the likes of faceboob do not realize, yes it may be easy and it may be fast, but there is no record for future guys and what you said is lost to the next generation, so please guys keep it here and lets keep it real, for our children and your children's children.

What you saying is very true as the same questions get ask over and over on the Facebook groups

If want the forum to get busy we can always promote it on those groups?

I have or rather say had a "RUNNINING" forum and it died because of FB. Most people are constantly on their phones/FB

Think you right, maybe the guys that are on facebook aircooled groups should promote this forum, and explain why it is important to post here rather then facebook.

We need action men...

I think that all posts should be seen as important. What I find in this forum is that when the guys whose names are in bold blue or green says something there is always a lot of comments and discussion. That is all good, but newer members need to be encouraged to participate and share their aircooled projects as well. Somebody mentioned that there's only 8 people here, but I think there are many lurkers who could make a positive impact if they got more encouragement from the seasoned members. The future of this forum depends on this. OK, I got that off my chest.

Welcome back MARK! Just to satisfy my curiosity - what is the real reason for the all capital letters? Better visibility on the screen? Just wondering...

SIMPLE REALLY.

I HAVE PRINTED ALL MY LIFE AND FIND IT SIMPLE AND EASY FOR ME TO READ.
I AM NOT EASILY INFLUENCED AND AM CERTAINLY NOT A SHEEP. BECAUSE SOME TECHNOPHOBE COMES ALONG AND SAYS THAT I AM SHOUTING BECAUSE I WRITE IN CAPS, DOESN'T INFLUENCE ME ONE IOTA. I BELIEVE THAT THAT IS WHAT AN APOSTROPHY WAS INVENTED FOR. I AM OLD, SET IN MY WAYS AND IF SOMEONE FINDS MY CAPS OFFENSIVE I HAVE A SIMPLE SOLUTION.

DO NOT READ MY POSTS.

THANKS FOR ASKING.

I've been pretty quiet lately as I am trying to take a break from the internet altogether. Only a few days here or there though.
I've got so much to do that an hour or two online is too much. But yet, I am amazed by how many people are always online through the day on FB when they should surely be working
and yes, the amount of crap that gets repeated on FB is just ridiculous. Hense why i like the forums, they preserve info for future use

A good post 73type2 and a lekker thread thanks Herman. The members in the bold blue and green font contribute a donation (or time and other efforts) to the Dear Leader, eben
As 2019 beckons, perhaps a reminder of this to the existing donors and a suggestion to the other volks on the forum to consider sharing a dollar or two. I'm not sure what goes on behind the scenes, but I'm pretty sure that a lot of time and resources goes into keeping this forum alive.
For posterity sakes we can't afford to lose ACVWSA, there is so much to learn from in the old posts, in the archives, etc.

I don't have a credit card anymore, so, Paypal was impossible, but my contribution goes to a charity of Eben's choice. Perhaps drop him an email and come to a similar arrangement if you cannot do Paypal.

All of my projects are standing, no progress whatsoever. Life, surviaval, kids growing up, school stuff (ugh), other "distractions" have kinda kept me away from here, but logging on a few times a day is non-negotiable, just to see whats potting in the ACVWSA world :hangloose:

Peace mon 8)

The issue is laziness. It’s more to do with fewer time being spent doing hobbies and rather turning to watching TV, browsing Facebook or drinking on the couch.

The projects / vehicles threads are dead. This is what I like to see. I don’t visit the forum to read jokes or look at seat cover pictures.

I also do find it time consuming to load pictures, type a story, but this forum is also like a diary for my vehicles and projects. It’s the only form of record keeping for me of when I acquired it.

People are also too sensitive. This claim of members leaving because of insensitive or offense comments is also rubbish. I’m most probably one that made them offended, but that’s only because they chose to take offense and leave because of it. I for example take offense or actually find it repulsive if I see someone doing a golf conversion, but I’m still here. I don’t run away because I’m offended.

It is clear there is more activity on Facebook, but it’s really not valuable reading material and you can’t find anything even posted from a week ago. It’s filled with idiots posting pics of what they eating for lunch rather than detailed stories of a vehicle they restoring.
