I was thinking the blue of the Mercedes sportscar transporter of the 1950’s but think it will not go well with the Azure blue of your 52.

I like the ova era colours. Think a green with the Azure blue would be nice.

Due to family time, issues, and festivity, not much was done, and as we are waiting on some steel,

to complete the back, as well as waiting for the Alternator from Cape Town, not a lot was done.

Have how even completed the tyre rails, on the back,

And have redesigned engine tins to make the cooling fit the project.

As the Alternator needs to go in before bolting the tin's in place, we had to hold out on that as well.

Have fitted the 4 into 1 Tuffex pipes to ensure clearances. Silencer will be fitted once the engine tins are completed.

Fitted the short stocky manifolds to the type 4 engine so that I can mount the ... err...err..

What are these things called again ...??

So here are the photo's ;-

Pastel green or bordeaux red....light sand colour with the azure blue would also look nice. Not so sure about the interior though.

A nice wooden loading deck would also look great.

Colours are a difficult matter, its like asking three 4x4 guys which tyre is the best and you’ll get 5 answers

Have some samples painted and sleep on it for awhile

Thanks for your input guys, will have to test a few options.

Have not done much on MeFusco this week, as we had to make drawings and get them off to my laser guy for cutting and bending.

Did however fit the alternator from Cape Town, and managed to fit the tins in that area.

Have also welded the chassis stiffeners and body mounting fix points, getting the flatbed ready to fit the side skirts.

Engine bay is so to say ready for the engine enclosure which I will probably fit next week.

So not much to photo about but still a bit of forward movement.

Till Then

As its back to work, and we are doing office renovations as well as the work list for the wife,

time has now become in short supply.

But managed to slip off this weekend for a few hours to keep MeFusco project current.

You will notice not much to show for the work put in but the flex braces are in on the bed

The 60 flat bar on edge load strings are running from back to front to help carry the weight

The side skirt mounting tabs have been fitted ready for skirt fitment, once I have coated the chassis.

And I have given you a slight glimpse of what the side skirts will look like.

Also doing the engine chamber enclosure, to ready for the floor build.

But ahead of my time again, ...

Herman

Not much done due to other things, but due to the MeFusco standing, and I am only 20 Meter from saltwater, the rust has started showing its nasty little head.

Even if its only surface rust, I had to get stuck in and remove it and 2K epoxy prime the whole thing.

Gave her one heavy coat, and will probably give her yet another coat next week.

That should take me through the build, as long as I do not dilly dally.

So here are a few photo's just as a short term fix for the addicts out there.

Yes and No.

Like a GOOD set of tea cups, you need a set, to enjoy the beauty.

We not talking of Jurgens earthen wear here.

Needed to make it functional and not just a mobile exhibit.

So yes it can,

But

All mine are made to drive, and any distance at any time.

No very easy, but can be done.

Have built a number of one-off toys before, and with a hell of a struggle got them on to the system.

These are normally only made by an engineering works as they are punched in to give the grip on the wheel side.

You can use expanded mesh as well, you get 3 or 5 mm which is better then the perforated sheets.
