Selling UP every thing must go.

Post by Terry Phillips »

So its now going to happen I am selling up and moving overseas.
My problem is I just have to much stuff to list and to many vehicles to sell one by one my question is do I get the Auctioneers in to take it away then sell it all or do I go and advertise it all under Headings ie cars, trailers, Bikes, Workshop equipment, shelving, machinery consumables, Tools tool boxes and so on.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Please PM me your cell number then I can send you pictures.

Eugene easy there. Some of us are trying to get our lives organized and might be interested in non aircooled items.
Spray guns shelves garage equipment etc.
If at all possible post what you can and let’s see if there are any takers.

Eugene I wish I could stay here but I have a Disability for which there is no cure look it up then you might understand my position I have a condition called Arachnoiditis its one of the most painful condition there is 24/7. You cant sit for long you cant walk far and there is no cure world wide and the UK has the best Pain management there is. I have had several operations here all for nothing as it was Arachnoiditis all along, they Fused my SI joint nearly died from that op blood in my abdomen and spinal cord fluid leak then hip replacement, two artificial Discs L4/5 s1 which they go in from the front had discs fused,4 upper back operations to fit a spinal cord stimulator. Then I had two heart attacks from the wrong medication and Suffer chronic back pain 24/7. there is no facility in South Africa that can control my pain and the UK is my best option.
After all that I ended up with Colon Cancer had a operation and they removed what they could so that's now like a time bomb.
Out of 10 operations I saw a specialist who pointed out that I had Arachnoiditis which is spinal cord damage and all my nerves are tangled up causing severe pain. This condition is not very well diagnosed in SA they just say its failed back surgery but in fact is Arachnoiditis. Also remembered I have had DVT 3 times resulting in three embolism's
Forgot I had fractured my pelvic in 3 places after hitting a bakkie with a 16 yr old driving it and the hospital me there was nothing wrong with me and I can go home.I was walking arround for 4 days before I had to go see my Doctor and he picked up the fractures and referred me to this butcher that destroyed my life.
So Eugene some times you don't have options and we have to do whats best for us.

Here is a thought maybe kinda sort items into piles and take pics, get a list of members cell no that are interested in what you have, create a group and whatsapp the pics to them.
I know that you have an offer from someone here to come out and help with this and I would be willing to do same.
I am sure those of us that have been to your place is aware of the amount of "stuff" that you have.

Hey Terry, I did not mean to offend. It was a tongue in cheek comment, as it was not the first time you told us you are selling everything, only for nothing to come of it. Apologies, I did not mean to make fun of your health or condition.

Hi Terry

You will have to list what you want to sell. Stating that everything is for sale is of no use to us on the forum if we don't know what you have.

Start with the larger items.

Wanting to sell everything at once is not going to yield you a good price. Garage items like shelves, old tools etc are not worth much, Giving it to an auction house will not give you much for that. You could contact these second hand stores that are also prepared to empty your garage and pay for items that have value.

Thanks Guys I have a problem just getting through one day at a time due to pain.As suggested I will list the big stuff first then move on from there.
I apologise if I have caused any misleading remarks, I am basically now on a time limit as we sold our house in 3 days and we where not expecting that. We thought maybe 6 months or more. I will regroup and get it started asap. Thank you.
