I upgraded my ecu recently to a Speeduino. If you are interested in a upgrade that's worth it with a lot of features. Have a look at the speeduino page and tunerstudio software. Made my tuning so much easier and more accurate.

The flywheel O-ring needs grease when you fit it so it doesnt get destroyed.
The crank seal needs to seat deeper in the case, not flush with the case and needs to be greased prior to fitting the flywheel

A very belated hi to everyone who is still around. It's been over a year since the last post, but I eventually did what needed doing!

The fuel system is in and running! Had a bunch of issues with the fuel pump, but it's now happy and the car idles happily enough with basic timing set. It needs to head off for tuning, and it's running very rich (I think I have oversized the injectors, but will find out soon enough), but it's such a relief to hear it go again!

Landed up replacing a leaky pump only to find this one binds if the clamp is even vaguely tight. But it was an opportunity to install a better high pressure filter


There she is! Locked up the distributor and pulled out the vav advance. Probably needs some dusting...




The fuel gauge will come out when it's all running to avoid a fire risk. Also had to make a plan for the case vent, since it cannot be recirculated into the intake system anymore... so it's running through a catch can into a breather box.

For some reason, I never saw these posts! Apologies guys.

The tune came back as acceptable. The car runs smoothly after it warms up and the advance is a little aggressive at low RPM, but it's very drivable which is great.
The dyno claimed 45kW (70bhp-ish) which I am happy with. I was hoping for about 90bhp, but I suspect the single throttle body setup is quite restrictive. The flatness of the curves is great, so it drives smoothly... Just needs some tweaking to get things really running well

And yes... Changing the plugs is a pain. #2 in particular.
