Forum stone dead,.... so I thought to spice it up a bit. Purists look away !!!!
Pics above: original 6 V clock was retired long ago before converting to 12 V.......then found a 52mm VDO clock and "fitted " into the body of the clock. after at least a 3 week period I got the hands to clear whatever was in the way,...it seems to be running like "clockwork" now !!
Pic below is the sequence to the above,..I had to fit a rev counter into some sort of a cluster with oil P and Temp gauges. What you see is versions16B/5.... you get my drift here !!! Not 100% with the "style" of it,....will see if it grows on me.
C"mon guys !!! you must have "secret projects " you are working on !! Share with us,. you might inspire me to realize,....nou het jy droogemaak !!!
regards Haans

I like it Haans. The only thing that sticks in my eye are those bright screws, but that might be just me.

Very neatly done and can easily be removed again. I like it. I would maybe colour code the same as vehicle or matt /satin black to blend/hide it and make it less obvious.
Wanted parts:
Left sunvisor
Sink faucet
Exhaust to swap for Beetle exhaust

Re: Minor "improvements" to Haans
Hi,. thanks for your comments,.... let's see if we can revive this forum !!
Bright screws !,.... matches the screws on the "modified" console,... ,... you see where I'm coming from ?? the "bling" buttons will be evaluated during the trip to George. I do like SS button heads for most of fastners !!!
Console is a beetle's modified to suit,....had to loose the "tray" /"bakkie" closest to the handbrake lever,.....which to my amazement I had to do,...not knowing that this lever is not the original apparently. Console is attached with the Sticky end of velcro to carpet and gear stick sock is the same material as seats. Now I have a place for the essentials like keys & phone etc !!
so you see,...all of this is sort of matching the seats as well.
Believe it or not the paint is supposed to be "satin",.....
Nb version 17A is being worked on,....whether it will come to fruition,.......who knows!!!!
love the feedback

Re: Minor "improvements" to Haans
Hi Haanz, i sm going to fetch one to rebuild. Wiring needs to be done, and a respray, there is no engine though.
It is black in colour, think it is a 1964 model. Will post photos when i get it home. Post a pick of yours please? Looking forward to this project.
I have a spare steering rack, gearbox and windscreen.
Regards
Chris.
