He he he thanks for the welcome, friends.. Guess I'll restore my Schwimmer myself, then?

Thanks for all the PMs and e-mails, you freaking TREASURE HUNTERS - even Merlin referred to it as a Buggy, and asked for first dibs to buy it!!

Some people call me Jaap, but my friends call me Pine

BTW, the REAL story about the Schwimmwagen in the pic here  http://images.google.co.za/imgres?imgur ... n%26sa%3DN

Some interesting reading!

amazing full story, worth a read.
But can you imagine, finding one in somewhere in Africa and not knowing what it was!
This one had April fools written all over it.

I wonder how old Jaap is doing? Haven't heard anything from him in two years, but I believe they've had some floods recently in Namibia

Speaking of Jaap an his schwimmwagen, it is unusually "quiet" for today's date, compared to previous years same time?

Wonder how Sambaowner/Snyx and Dirk's "Exporter-friendly forum" is doing? (Just joking).
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

Pine,
You wont believe me but when you posted that story the give away for me was the good english of Jaap
I stayed not far from Upington for a long time and not even the one or two souties that live there can speak the language like that . So I never bought the story but Iwas hoping that it was true .
cheers
