Hi everyone!

I'm new here at the forum, and I just want to say that I am very impressed so far. I'm actually a Alfa Romeo fan - please dont shoot me - but recently started developing a interest for VW Kombi pick ups. I bought a +/- 1970 DC, which I sold shortly afterwards. After that I bought a 1970 single cab in Bredasdorp. This vehicle is currently being restored. Will post some pics ASAP. Oh, and thanks to Chris for telling me about the forum.

Kind regards
D

Hi guys,
My name is Callum and I'm a not so Newbie/Newbie...(Did I need to stand up for that?) :)
Got a 56 Oval window for my 18th birthday some 15 years ago. Spent 3 years restoring it and rebuilding it as a Socal look intened for shows and competitions... Soon after restoration the car was stolen due to an oversight by a family member and I was devistated...has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I never wanted to see one again... But now, some years on, I want my Bug back so now I am on the search for a new project... Looking for a Split oval or early 60 Bug to bring to life and give me back what was take some years ago...
I am an avid fa and have been since I was a child... Hoping to find some support and use this forum to get things back on track... Hope to see everyone on here often...

Hi I'm Joe

Just got introduced to you guys by the Chairman of the VW Club - says you guys are the ones to talk to re Beetles.

I bought a 63 1500 single port (?) which I understand was an import. It has flat hubcaps and discs up front. Has been standing in my garden (under cover) for a year or two (or three0 and i now want to do something about sorting it out. I will need a complete refurb from fron to back. I originally thought of Beetle Buddies but have seen some bad press, and thought that this forum would be able to guide me into who is reliable and resonably priced.

Would be appreciated if anyone can help.

Welcome Stevens :)

It sounds as if you have a '67 1500, that is a very desirable Beetle to own

Enjoy your stay, there is much fun to be had here

Hi folks, I'm not really new but its been a long time since I posted. Lots of changes since May last year! Eben, the board looks good and it also appears to be busier which is a healthy sign. I will send email for viewing offered section shortly. I've updated my '71 Westy project thread for those interested.

Hi!

I am a long time admirer of Beetles, and the odd Kombi, having driven some over the years, but never owning one. However, I am now looking at a VW engine to put in a light kitbuilt aeroplane. My son is building the airframe, and I write the cheques and have responsibility for the engine. I am looking at building a 2.4 liter aircooled engine, with propellor speed reduction unit, and would appreciate advice on where to shop in Pretoria for parts. I am specifically looking for the casing, and SCAT heads and perhaps a forged crankshaft. Of course I will need the rest too, barrels, pistos, etc, but I believe that these are not too difficult to find.

I am also looking at a mechanical fuel injection system, someone mentioned a K-Tronic system. Any comments?

Looking forward to some good mails,

Coen van Wyk

18 & a half year old from Sweden. Interested in music, photographing and cars. Mainly old VWs and 50s, 60s and 70s americans. I play drums and guitar but unfortunatelly not in a band.
Bought my T2 -76 in November 2007 for around 180 USD or exactly 1000 Swedish kronor. Equipped with the 2 litre 51kW engine. It's fitted with camping interior and it was fitted with a sleeping loft sometime during the 80's. Very professionally made. It's made out of the cover of a small trailer.

Hello Nisse, and welcome to the Forum. I always thought there must be more to your country than Volvo station wagons and ABBA music - that Bus and Chevelle look very nice!! :drunks:

Hope you have fun here
