Price for a type 4?

Post by coenvanwyk »

I can get a type 4 engine, apparently recently rebuilt and said to be in good condition. What would be areasonable price? I think it is a more or less standard engine, no fancy gadgets on it.

Thanks,

There are no fixed prices for these engines. You could pay anything from R1k to R10k.

I know it is difficult, I do not know what the guy paid, and put in, at the same time I also may have to spend money on it. Will have to see what he asks, I guess.

Thanks, though.

R2000-00 is a good starting point if they claimed that the engine was redone

Make him an offer of 2grand and see what he says, But dont pay too much as you can NEVER take anyones word on what you are buying... If you want proof just read my thread Whispers from the DarkSide and youll find out about the horrors of taking a "friends" word on a motor.... Pay as little as possible cause you will sink more money into it....

Guys,

Thanks for your advice, I will keep it in mind, and let you know in due course if we decide to buy, and what comes of it.
