Thanks Fig.Nice pictures. Know the Lanz Bulldog tractors. On my family's farm near Wellington they used them.(Before my time,but seen one running there a few years ago). Had to heat the head with a flame before starting. One cylinder,two stroke diesel.Could run on crude oil, or a mixture of diesel and old used oil. Horizontal piston. 10,5 litres. Max rpm 650rpm. Could see it lift the front on every power- stroke. If you approaced a steep hill in the wrong gear and it died,running backwards,it would start in the wrong direction having full power backwards.
On older models it was said that you had to remove the steering wheel, and insert it on the side,and then turn that to start the engine, (after heating head with a blow-torch).
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
