Re: '67 Fastback - VERY LONG TERM PROJECT!
Another update.
This morning, I found a cat and 2 kittens living in the Fastback, so the next thing would be to get them out and find them a safe home

Blitz,
On an emergency basis, you can feed those cats milk and raw egg beaten together. Photos of the cats please. We love cats
.
Unfortunately we are fully booked for the next few years, so I won't be able to take them.

Easiest and cheapest would be to have them sent to Baron or Dam

Re: '67 Fastback - VERY LONG TERM PROJECT!
Sat down the other night and made some plans for this Fasty's future.
I would like to have the bare shell mounted on the replacement chassis by the end of December - I am setting aside the whole of December to work on this car. The chassis will be sprayed and detailed by myself, and new brake/fuel lines as well as cables will be fitted. At this point, a return line for EFI will also be fitted.
Once this is done, I will then have the front beam adjusted by two splines and clean and detail that as well. Ideally, I'd like to primer the car as well, but it boils down to how much time the rest of the chassis work takes.
Once all of the above is done, the car will sit for a while until I can begin Phase 2.
At this stage, I have no idea what the final result will be like i.e what wheels, engine, interior etc

Are the kittens still living inside your fastback?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

No idea what happened to the kittens, but there is a cat that stays in the car every night.

Re: '67 Fastback - VERY LONG TERM PROJECT!
Blitz, as I said before - get the Fasty running as soon as possible and then make it a running project. I've been there before, it is really not lekker to dream about everything you still want to do, with the car not running. You wouldn't believe how good it feels once that engine starts for the first time - regardless the condition of anything else. You have the benefit of having two cars at the moment. Get the one running and roadworthy, and work on the parts of the other one. Once something is completed (like a front suspension), exchange it on the running car (Saturday afternoon job), and start with the next thing!

Re: '67 Fastback - VERY LONG TERM PROJECT!
yep i sometimes find my self dreaming of turbo conversions and all sorts off things when my car isnt even on the road yet ...and thats the idea with buggy get it running and looking allright ,hell id even drive it as it is at the moment just so i can have something that goes and then it becomes a rolling project cos its like my dad said to me with the buggy get the essentials right and the rest is all cosmetic (saturday afternoon jobs)...goodluck with the build blitz im uber keen to see what you produce...

Thanks for the motivation Pine. What you have suggested makes the most sensePine wrote:Blitz, as I said before - get the Fasty running as soon as possible and then make it a running project. You have no idea how difficult that part is. Especially when you are dealing with incompetents who can only say eish! and aww. Very frustrating.eben wrote:Yeah get your license and get that fasty on the road
