This was in 2002.The car was standing in the garage most of the time,and was getting damaged.

damn............well the prices have climbed up somewhat, but what's nice is that guys buying are looking for original looking ones.....not butcherd ones, (so I'll be safe)

I did a lot of work on mine,like the door handle conversion,red leather interior,orig wheels and rear lights,overriders and dash.

Pretty much what I have planned.

- Rear lights (I don't like the beehive lights)
- Dash, dash cover, gauges, chrome trim
- Over-riders
- empi pulls on the doors, handles done
- spotlights

Any pictures of yours by any chance?

You know one of the things that really pisses my of from VENOM cars is the fact that 3 days Before they Liquadated they took my one friends money on a buggy Shell

I told him just to give a deposite and when it is done we can see the Quality
So he said no I want Uegene to see I want it in a hurry and Paid R8500 cash
3 days later got there and a security guard was standing at the gate
No entry they "closed" down

Looking at the wire link if that was done by a proffesional shop they should have been shot

I think especially the speedsters it is much more cost efective to buy a cheap running car than to start from scratch

Then like you are doing now fixing all the short cuts

I'm getting an idea of how many short cuts they made and while not too bad, it's still enough to piss me off.

Update:

Well the long weekend gave the time to do a few naggling things that I wanted to do, including removing the old gauges and see what the condition of the wiring is like under that dash.

First thing was to cut the holes for the new gauges that I'm going to be fitting.

Pretty straight forward, the dash appears to be almost 10mm thick. I was quite impressed with this. The gauges still need to be fitted correctly, but I'm happy with the look.

They're in. The centre hole will have to be filled as the previous gauge was flush mounted from behind, so I'm still going to consider what I want to do here. I may flush mount the new gauges as well and have new billet rings machined to clean it up somewhat.

The wiring by the way, is terrible.......I'm going to end up ripping the whole lot out........DIY home cable etc etc, this pretty much shows me that this car was built from a kit........it's a fire waiting to happen.

I also got my pass side handle sorted out and this week will be new hardboard for the doors and then the search begins for some nice gas shocks for the hood and trunk as well as a hood release mec for the engine lid and a modified golf mk1 handle for the release.

Yup, IMPI donated them to the project, they will still have to be stripped/ cleaned and also have the faces changed.
