Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
Its going to be Yellow.
Working on the chassis, we found the seam between the upper and lower part of the tunnel has started to separate. I am not talking about the floor pans but the actual tunnel itself.
Well it will have to be welded up. Best I found it. You would not want the tunnel to fall to pieces in some remote part of the world.
Cheers

Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
Chassis is comming along slowly. Should have it back by the end of next week. I know this has been discussed before - should it be stone chipped or painted with 300 line. what are the pros and cons.

Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
The PO told me this Kubel (oops 181) was fitted with a Limited slip diff from the factory. Other than stripping the box to find if this was true or not, I found this. It is the gearbox filler plug.
Now it stated I must use a special oil. So what oil must I use. Help Bugger

Got the chassis back this morning. All nice and black again.

First part in its place. All nice and clean.

What did you use on the chassis to make it all nice and black again?

Front suspension hanging and rear torsion bars in.

Now what is the official degs that the rear trailing arms must lay at before being lifted into position.
Cheers

Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
Found out that the spring blades of the 181 must be 27deg in the rest position.
Yesterday I managed to to tighten all the front suspension bolts and assemble the rear end.
