As the flock has a bit mildew & its faded over the last 34 years I have decided to have it re-done. I've ordered Dark Gold as it looks the nearest to what I have on the colour chart.
The procedure is as follows:-
1.) I DA all the old flock off using 80 grit sanding discs.
2.) I mask all the areas that aren't to be flocked.
3.) Every now & again I attach masking tape tags to the masked areas.
4.) My M8 Ian sprays the areas inside I want flocked with a tinted glue, he also covers the masking tape tags.
5.) Ian attaches s crocodile clip to one of the tags & electronically charges the glue.
6.) Ian sprinkles the flock material which is also charged all over the glue, moving the crocodile clip as he goes along.
7.) After a day of curing I use an air line to blow off the excess.
I'll take a video of the process when we do it next week. I've also ordered a new canvas. I'll take detailed photos of this being fitted also.
I am hoping next weekend to have the pop top fitted back on.

Dropped off all my bits to the metal platters today, some stuff to be chromed & some zinc plated, I had to strip the pop top mechanism down otherwise the springs inside may have been damaged. No work done on Milly today the boys are finishing off a Spitty. Hopefully they'll be back on it now tomorrow. I've ordered some new parts today, hopefully they will be here in a day or so. My Window refurb video is still uploading

The body prep is now complete & the masking will probably be taken off tomorrow, the roof has a small dent that needs to be pulled out & then it can be painted, it doesn't need any high build primer.
The inside of the doors will be painted tomorrow, hopefully the roof will be painted Thursday, then either the bus or the outside of the doors on Friday. I'm now hoping by next weekend the painting is finished. I am then away for a week which will give the paint plenty of time to harden:-
Prepped these parts up, put some Jenolite rust treatment on the areas where surface rust had left marks, I'll paint them black tomorrow. ready for re-fitting:-
