Ok guys

Just a quick update

We have lights in the back and in the front

Managed to get the cables pulled through and get them connected and working

Also installed a universal indicator stalk it works but obviously does not mount as well as the original

Alas the indicators are working.
Some extra electrical to sort out is trying to figure out where the seperate switch they have installed for the spot lights terminate and where the spaghetti ends on that. But will get going with those over the weekend.

Going to try bite the bullet and do some welding as well.

Also started cleaning off the bed on the back and getting some undercoat painted on to protect it from the elements after a good clean.

This used to be a requirement in the old days. It had to match the stated weights on your registration papers.
Think it is no longer needed there, as the weight is also on the license disc.

So Mark ignited the build for me

This bloody Guy came up here with a bunch of tools and freakin started doing body work and fitted mechanical fuel pump for me.

He also kept the electric pup system in so if I have a failure on the mechanical I can always go back to the less preferred electric system.

I returned the favor by squirting some 95 into his eye

He also fixed my accelerator and clutch pedal to work properly

He even took time to restore my steering wheel

Mark I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for me it is just the kick in the back I needed to get going.

Cleaned up the vinyl a bit

Before the bottom and after on top

Image

Removed the side panels from the old boards and remade boards
Image

Fitted

Image

Did some new rubber for the floor

Image

Image

Temp fitted that yellow seat from another bus to take a drive. The drivers seat is the only one that is in a bad shape. Had it reupholstered and have to still fit it

Took the bus for alignment

Image

Yes I know it needs a good wash and polish still and there are some body work that needs to be done but for now this is what the budget allows.

Dirk sorted out electrical work

Image

Fitted GTech electronic ignition and she is running nicely

Have kept spare coils condensor and extra set of points in case of failure

Planning a short trip for next weekend after roadworthy to Warmbaths ( Bella Bella) to fetch some firewood.

Will see how that one goes and take it from there.

Maybe do a longer trip soon.

Cool, keep going.
I have too many interruptions, but a confident that once the metalwork is done things will speed up.

Ok Guys so have done a road trip and while driving in this blistering heat I tend to religiously check the temp on the engine when I stop

A concern that I have is the cooling on this engine and looking at it carefully I see the whole engine bay is closed up by this diamond plate

Image

So standing behind the bus
On the left side I see they have butchered the back enough for some air to come through the vents on the side but on the right I cannot see anyway for the air to actually reach the engine bay. The battery sits in the back the whole thing is enclosed and I think those vents on the side there is not providing any cold air to the bus

Anybody have photos specifically of the dc engine bay behind the engine towards the gearbox.

I have tried Google but since these outjies are not so popular I am not finding any nice examples.
