Re: What did you do on your car today?
When I built the car I did not have money for powder coating and so I spray painted the suspension parts with Gloss black 2k. When I stripped the suspension the parts were still looking really good. If you prepare the surfaces properly and you do a good spray job there is no reason why it should not look good and stay rust-free for many years. The powder coating is just so much nicer.Gerlach wrote:NICE!!!!!! now it's going to look nice and and best of all, no rust any more!! like i always say, do the right thing the first timeMars67 wrote:Collected the front suspension from powder coating again today. I decided to go for a more subdued look so I only had the grub screws electroplated. The other parts were powder coated gloss black. I also had some of the brackets coated satin black as I like subtle contrasts.
Here are some (poor) cell phone pictures.

installed the front suspension and adjusted it down. Looks right at last. Nice and low! It was already lowered as per the instructions of KCC when I built it.

Finally got around to fitting a weber 36 dcd that I rebuilt myself. Bolted that sucker on, jets and linkage all done, and the rat started first time. I don't understand the hatred towards these carbs. Makes the car go like stink aswell

Almost completed my diy breather box, just needs a few small welds and then a cleanup and some finishing off.

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Got to Petrus on Monday and had no brakes. Only an ominous puddle on the inside of the right rear wheel. Checked the calipers (four wheel discs) and noticed the brake fluid running out next to the parking brake pivot.
Seems the caliper developed a leak between the fluid chamber and the parking brake pivot (Thanks Goldwagen) The calipers were fitted about two years ago and normally invoices don't hang around that long.
Long story short....R1300 Randelas later I had a new caliper fitted. Hope he sticks to his house training regime now with no more puddles...
