Hi, i see you have coilover shocks at the back , do you also have a set in front. I have two sets that i must install , but with the 18 inch wheels the space infront looks abit on the narrow side. Since you also got mags ,i was curious to know if you got a set in front.

Hi Dutch, yes it will. I'll try to park it so it can MOVE. If you arrive at five, there may well be a spin in it for you!

Coil-over shocks. I only have them at the back. There's no weight in the front, hence no need. The front is max'ed out upwards anyway under normal circumstances on a buggy. I run the coil overs only when I am towing the trailer, 2 weeks out of 52, when I get home, I put the normal ones back in. I am thinking of adjusting the back suspension to run straight with the coil over shocks in at minimum (she runs high), but haven't made up my mind yet. It is almost easier to put the coil-overs in once a year only for the camping trip.

A long long time ago... I went to Andreno motors to have a "1300" gearbox reconditioned, as a spare after I had destroyed the "1600" by running it with 75cc of oil in it... ...

Bugger came around and identified the gearbox as a "1300" i.e. having the lower ratio final drive.

Two weeks ago, Bluebird (Steve) was there, the gearbox and the buggy were there, and I was there and the fridge was full...

Out with the engine, out with the gearbox, stripped what needed stripping, rebuild it onto the old gearbox... had another beer, stripped it again, rebuilt it onto the new gearbox , (I was only allowed to fit the sexy new blue booties, everything else was deemed too technical.) The new low ratio final drive gearbox was filled with oil, (I was allowed to put the oil in... ) and in it went. Rear discs back on, caliphers (with handbrake) back on, it was interesting to see how the rear disc brake kit works, in went the engine and we fired her up. It took 9 hours and a case and a half.

I took her out for a low speed drive to make sure everything is as it should be and it was. Nice and smooth, definitely some cahnge in ratios. I can't tell yet what exactly the results will be because we need a camping holiday with Rumours and Rumours Vol II. Towing the loaded trailer over a mountain pass with reveal whether what I did was right. Either that or a high speed run on the open road.

Don't have pics, because all that changed was the gearbox number...

Ron, between Rumours and Pine's HW2, I think you have the 2 best buggies in the world.....I would love to make a third but in UK, no point

why no point DD? You guys have more convertibles in the average town than we do in the entire SA. A buggy is just another convertible....
