From Wikipedia:

The word 'bugger' was originally used to describe either anal intercourse by a man with a man or woman,[8] or sexual intercourse by either a man or a woman with an animal [9], but today serves as a mild expletive and can be used to replace the word 'bugger' as a simple expletive or as a simile as in the phrase It hurts like buggery or in apparently meaningless phrases such as Run like buggery, largely equivalent to Run like hell.

Oh :bn: , this is going to get nasty......

Most people can't get their tongues around my surname so everyone calls me by the first three letters.

Similar to FIG as my surname is also a mouth full, Quantrill so took the Q and made TheQ as in The Man of the House. Stuck since I can remember!

A friend had a XT500, and in a beer filled conversation said the bike's piston thumps instead of rotating. I drove a bug at the time and my bug thumped 4 times more often than his bike. Thus.... Thumper . (And I told him that too!)

The name stuck, and I gave it to every bug I drove since. When I needed a name for this forum, it was easy......

In the Disney movie Bambi, the blue rabbit was called Thumper, he had nothing to do with it....I think.

I was originally Blitzkrieg_Beetle, named after the magazine feature that got me hooked onto ACVWs.

Then, I later asked eben to change it to Blitzkrieg, because I didn't have a Beetle, but a Type 3 instead

My name makes no sense in English (Hi, I'm lightningwar  ), but "blitzkrieg" and everything else associated with Blitz sounds so cool. I also have a huge admiration for the German Army and their general tactics and symbols that were used during the Second World War, so blitzkrieg I am :P
If it's too low, you're too old

Mine came from helping my grandfather fix a stove when I was about 7 years old. Me being the helpful idiot that i am tried to use the tester on the live cables when granddad wasn’t watching.... Only killed a couple of the unnecessary brain cells and granddad was in trouble with grandma because how could he do this to her favourite grandson....
Life is not a journey to the grave
With the intention of
Arriving safely in a pretty
And well preserved body,
But rather to skid in broadside,
Thoroughly used up,
Totally worn out,
And loudly proclaiming,
WOW !!!! What a ride!
