Removed the dashboard and found some more rust behind it. Now I know why the Bay's are prone to rust. I'm going to strip the whole bus, fix all the rust and do a full respray.

Yes, Jan did a pretty good job with the Ghia. He is doing the respray on the Westy as well.

Jislaaik Didi, but you don't take
from a bay.
Good work. Can't wait to see the next installment.

The poptop was a bit mouldy, torn and patched in places. I gave it to a firm called tent-a-toria. I collected a brand new poptop tent today and it looks amazing.

The westy is stripped and will be going to the sandblasters this coming week. gearbox and engine is out as well. Here's some pic's
The bus had no rust on the nose (surprising for a bay) now I know why.
The C.V's are worn. I found new replacements at Goldwagen in Centurion. I was quoted R220 each. When I returned with the cash in hand 4 hours later I was told it's R290 but with discount I can get it for R250. Still a good price considering.

Dutch, I have to agree with you. I might have to visit Van der Brink motor's again to cut up some more metal.

What are you smoking dude?
Wow Didi...it's fcuked!!!
Rather get yourself a new body. Even if it's not a Westy, you can always cut out and weld in the roof section, rather than fixing this one.
Good luck

Most of that is easy rust to repair, if the person doing the metal replacement knows what they doing.
