Re: Bits 'n BABs
Ok guys, I have measured the petrol cap. Bab I say you need to make the diameter 80 mm with sides 30 mm deep. This will fit over the petrol cap. The cap itself is maximum diameter 75mm and 30 mm deep. The minumim diameter of the cap is about 72mm. This is due to the cap not being completely round but more like 'notched".
I would rather like just a flat 50mm disc which I will glue onto the top of my cap.
I am waiting to see what Farhaads "Route 66" comes out like. Then I will decide what emblem I want.
This is for a '66

Re: Bits 'n BABs
Hi BAB
Sorry for taking so long with my measurements, my 58's fuel cap is 87mm in diameter, and from crown to the bottom of the lip is 19mm. This would indicate that the "cap" to go over it, would need an internal diameter of at least 88mm and an internal height of at least 20mm, should it be a little higher it wont be a problem.
To see why I want to hide the current cap:

I am having second thoughts on the transformer logo, as another esteemed member had the great idea. So I was thinking, would this be possible:

Thanks
KK
