I think we all have an inkling who bought that car.
Now the next trick is to see how long he keeps it for
Ant bets that the offers of plenty $ and good old queenies (British or Aussie) will have him part with it, suitably broken hearted and " sold to someone who promosed to keep it in his collection in the Free State forever " only to see it for sale in a UK magazine or trade publication.
If the new owner is who we think it is, he has a very selective memory for remembering details when asked"where that rare priceless bug or bus is that he was seen in the last time you saw him"
HE IS DEALER, NOTHING MORE TO IT.
Now, I dont have a problem with dealers. I dare say that i could be tempted to flog my own bug overseas if money was the prime consideration at the time.
BUT I wouldn't bullshit everybody that I had exhausted the local market for offers before i flogged it offshore, or sold it to some local doos that promised to keep forever.
Talking about the local market------ just the other day, an interested party made me the grand offer of "around 8K" for my car, which many of you know well------ see what i mean about not even looking local.----

The car was bought by an honest VW enthusiast, and a very good personal friend. Not a dealer - so he doesn't need to hustle cars to stay alive. He paid cash for the car (cause he can), and it is legally his property. He can do with it pretty much anything he wants to do with it, btw...
So, any ACVWSA members who wanted to buy it themselves?
....didn't think so.

If there was any justice in this world, the owner would have started converting it to a Baja already
Personally, I hope that this car goes overseas. ..
