Ahh, but you see, I do it all myself, so what if its not 100% perfect, Its practice for the next time round and i'll be even more proud of my bug anyway

its my car, I built it, I'll spray it

it's coming on time for a respray anyway. We sorta did a rough job just for varsity...
It's not that i'm a cheap Bastard, just nobody really works on my car but me

and thats how i want it to stay

Thank you Dirk, as you well know it takes lots of energy, beer, parts, work and loot to make this happen

and sometimes you need more beer!

EFI.... what is used locally and what does not work? Where do you get the inlet manifold etc locally?

Volkspares does the inlets with injectors at the base as well as the Gotech systems, Else the other option is the local parts Guru know as Calooker for the inlets then you need to source the computor.

Thanx, gave Volkspares a buzz, they have all but the manifolds in stock. Sending me an email with all the dope.

Electronic ignition, what is the best way? Planning on EFI, chances are Gotech. Do I use a 009 or something else?

"6 on paint" <-- that would be a utterly wank job at the best of times. I reckon 20k minimum unless you do all the prep work yourself and just get them to whip on the paint, even then you'd need to ensure they are doing a good enough job.

If you are doing all the work and replacing almost everything.....would you consider a bare shell from a 58? No glass, no lights, needs some repairs but you are chopping anyway?
If you would, will have a chat with someone who might be willing to part with, only problem is it's in Cape Town.

Hi, that makes sense, have a chat please. Do we have a pan? Any idea how much to ship that thing to Centurion?

The shell has the pan fitted still but there are a few holes to fill as it was initially used as a donor vehicle. If the owner is willing to give up I will post some pictures.....it's not mine to offer really.
I will ask them though.
On costs......Chris is our transporter!

Hi Good luck
I have a 67 that has been for sale for a long time
I grafted on a steel sunroof from another bug (BTW not half arsed)
the car itself is a rare factory model with disc brakes
search the for sale section for Photos
Minimal rust
This car althought it has been dismantled for paint is 99% complete and I will lay out any part needed and show where it fits.
It is licenced in my name and the licence is up to date.
Nobody said this but regardless of the project you choose be sure that there is proper paper work
Regards
Armand
