OK Tony, You forced me to strip a 34pict3 for you and follows the veins with solder. On this carb the Vacuum advance comes from the Venturi side not the manifold side.

I wish I had my old carb in front of me to compare things... but alas

You are going to hate this statement....
I have been looking at the pic of the throat for a while. I cant make out exactly where the vac hole is... obviously I can see it. My question... where exactly does the butterfly sit? I can see the stains over most of the carb, but cant make it out in relation to where the vac port is. On the pic of my DCD, you can see its partially shrouded by the butterfly and part of it is below the butterfly. I am just wondering if this may be the case with your PICT3.

When I get home in Jan, I'll try and find my old 31Pict carb

HI Tony

The hole is +- 4mm above the butterfly. In circle 1 you can follow the line where the butterfly would close.
