Re: The Slut: '74 Bay DC - Missing Front Driver Seat

Post by Madbones »

Comrades, :zhelp:
The project is coming along great and looks terrific but we have a slight obstacle.
The seats kindly donated by Golfmad do not fit the rails as they are 1978 Kombi and we need earlier.
So for the project to continue I am desperately looking for one drivers seat in any condition to fit
a 1974 Kombi Double Cab. I have all the other seats but missing the drivers seat only.
If you have one available please let me know I am happy to pay.
Also have two 1978 seats to pass on where needed for free.
Thank you.
Madbones.

Re: The Slut: '74 Bay DC - She Lives thanks Bugger

Brilliant news.
Bugger you genius
Finally as promised an update, The Slut will run again with a shake down run set for tomorrow to the Vaal :hangloose:
So folks after tons of hours of hard work by Bugger and his team we have a re-birth.
And no although I have had this Bus restored, I did not do the work just shed the cheese.
So technically speaking I restored The Slut. or maybe not
I will be sure to send some photos of the finished DC after the run so wish me luck, The Slut rides again.

Eish I'm just living the dream :D
The Slut has been renamed The Turd, no prizes for guessing why  .
We took him on a "shake down" trip to the vaal. Probably the first long trip this bus has enjoyed in many years.
Not only am I super happy with the result from Bugger, but I got to break down and get going again in minutes. Every VW owners dream.
Huge thanks to Klaus for riding convoy, sorry about the oil shower along the way. We not only marked our spot but left a trail of oil
all the way back. Now let me just point out for the record that the oil leak was a result of me putting the same old engine back in
after Buggers resto so all my fault. Seems like an oil cooler leak but apart from that the engine did not miss a beat.
The work from Bugger has exceeded my expectation and I am super happy with the result :hangloose:
Thanks again Bugger I really like what you have done for me, everything I wanted and some.

Couple of things to put right but The Turd lives.
Now my only challenge will be to find him when I park in the bush, hell this bus hides itself well.
For those that don't like brown turn away now.
