Hey HR, make sure thatthe son removes the black insulation tape from the racks feet. Let him buy 50cm of clear PVC air pipe from a hardware or from a pet shop. simply cut it to length and then slot the pipe with a blade and slip it over the feet.
Problem solved as it will not allow your OG paint to be scratched and the rack will be more secure. Also looks a tad neater...
Oh, this is if has not already done so...
check the pics of mine...

Re: ....with added assessories
Here it is. I have had it sandblasted powder coated white and had the wooded slats cut from my local woodwork shop. I then vanished the slats with wood sealant. Please help with the claps.Jozi wrote:Nice Rack there. I have the same for my 67. Panel beater dumbass lost the (Durban Stirling)clamps. Re: ....with added assessories
I guess you could Dave, as long as it is not the hard type of pipe like used on gas tanks or hose pipes... they normally tend to scratch the paint as well and also are much thicker, making the rack stand higher in places.hitlers revenge wrote:Muds how about using blue pipe to go with the car?? They al;so tend to leave colouring of the pipe on your car after prolonged use.

Re: ....with added assessories
Almost every time my bug goes out someone wants to borrow the rack to copy so perhaps if there is a local person doing a replica rack then there would be buyers - hell i'm sure i could sell a few for you by just driving around.
Dont think you'd sell millions but easily a few a month
