The 1.3, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 VW waterpumpers are all the same when it comes to fitting it to the gearbox, only the 1.3, & 1.4 & 1.6 has a 190mm flywheel and 1.8 & 2.0 has a 210mm flywheel.

Hi hendriks

The golfs will all use the same adaptor, just need to used a different fly wheel, 1600 and 2000 used different ones. The 1.8 will work but you will not believe the power difference that a 2.0i has. Maybe start with the 1800 because you have it, save the money for now then later once you have sorted out the teething hassles and done a few km get a 2.0i with Mp 9 or gotech etc

i did a 2.0i into an 1800 Volksiebus for a customer, he could not believe the difference and he says better on fuel as well. he gets about 9-9.5 km/l with a fully loaded bus, more than a ton and then towing a trailer as well, also with about 500kg in it. he used to get about7 with the 1800.
