It's a real pitty you are not going to drive it down!
It really would be the safest to have driven it yourself.

Jolas, 300km a day? You can go from JNB to Cpt in day with a VW bus. and I am not the only one who has done it. TWICE!

I would have loved to drive it down...

We were planning on driving it down for Afrika Burn, bud the everything didn't work out according to the planning, anyway, settling for second best, at least i will have it here by next week. Will do a CPT - JHB - Sodwana and back trip in December.

Yeah yeah yeah Sean, just rub it in

I know it is a small distance to drive per day, but if I had some days free and no rush, I would have made a lekker rustige road trip out of the opportunity. Stopped at the small dorpies, looked into the locals back yards and all that. It would be a great opportunity to get to know the bus
and the motor. Overheating and mechanical issues might also be eliminated with a slow trip down.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

May I ask for the company details who will be transporting your vehicle?
I will be needing the same service but from Durban to Pretoria, then Pretoria to Cape Town

If you book in advance, you can use Shoshaloza meyl, they run from DBN to JHB and from JHB to CPT, they are also much cheaper than using a truck.

haven't bought it just yet. Waiting for the finance to be cleared and still checking on the car.
Currently doing a number plate check, but the guy is a bit difficult to get hold of. Never in one place. So it is proving a headache.
Will update everyone once it has gone through, that is if everything checks out.
Concerned about licencing penalties if there are any
