As You mentioned this bus is not Perfect but for the price as Explained to you now you got the beget to spend some money on the bus in time and repair all the problems but most important thing is that it is Immediately Drivable with the correct Paperwork which is the Biggest Bonus

It's HERE!!!

What a mission! I sat the whole morning twiddling my thumbs waiting. I then got a call from the driver of the truck who couldn't work out how to input my address into the GPS . I panicked a bit as with my '62 Beetle being at Joggie's for it's jazz-up, I didn't have a car to try and find him on the streets. Luckily, a friend rang me and said, with great excitement, that he'd just passed the truck with my bus on it on Beyers Naude! I asked him if he'd mind leading the truck to my place which he was happy to do. What a relief!

I am thrilled to have it! Getting it off the truck was a little hair-raising as, unbeknown to me, the brakes didn't work. The truck driver refused to move it, he said he was scared of that bus . I had a go and eventually we got it to roll off. My friend was still with me so he held the boom open at the estate with his car while I rolled, rather dangerously, right behind him so we could both go through together.... pass me my brown trousers...

There is quite a bit to do on her but she's splendid and just what I needed. A couple of the things that have to be done cosmetically are the dog-leg panels and side sills as they're just not cricket as they are. Obviously though, the brakes are going to need some attention first.

Anyone got any idea where I can get new dog-leg panels and side sills from? Also, any idea who in Jo'burg could do the installation and re-spraying of these to match the bus? I'd love to give Joggie this to do but he's quite busy at the moment .

What's been arranged so far:

Large Logo for the front (thanks Stuart )
14" Bus rims painted PLUS large logo hub caps (thanks Pierre and Rui )
Correct bumpers (front and back) that are soon to be painted.

All should be fitted pretty soon.

Pierre, any chance we can haul off the drums to check the brakes when we slap on the new rims?

i think you have a small leak on the brake system from the bus standing......don't think it's a big problem..and i'm sure Pierre would be able to sort it!
The bus never moved for about six months.
i have offloaded buses from that truck...without engine,brakes,handbrake and flat wheels....know the feeling !!

So you've all been through unloading a bus without brakes 'eh...? Thanks for the heads-up! I nearly sh*t myself! Also, being a panel with the the small rear window and me being almost seven foot tall with a lovely view of nothing but the inside of the ROOF didn't help. I closed my eyes, held the wheel straight, the truck driver gave it a gentle shove and then I prayed. Thankfully it went without event.

I had a peek in the brake reservoir when I got it to the house and it was empty. I managed to get some brake fluid late afternoon and topped it up. A couple of pumps later and there was pressure at the pedal . I had a go at bleeding the rear wheels but was going to run out of brake fluid and I was dying to go for a spin so while there was still pressure at the pedal I took it to the shops. Um, ja - those brakes need a good looking at. The only wheel that I figured was working was the front left as the bus shot across two lanes as I touched the pedal. Poo time!

Cool Pierre! Thanks for letting me know. I'll transfer Deon's greenbacks for the tires a little later on. By the way, I'll be collecting the large logo caps from Rui on Friday .
