Hi all, the Fleetline is progressing with the peak now attached and all the holes filled with steel. I used the good steel which came off the bit of front roof I cut out. It had a bit of a curve I could work with to make the infill bits. Grafting the remains of the air box was a bit of a pain.

My next job is to work down the sides. I've already started by cutting out one side and removing the gutter and side tops.

Wow that's a huge challenge that you have taken on. But you seem to be coping fine! Congratulations - it's looking good so far. Keep on with it!

Hi all, Thanks for the encouragement, it's needed sometimes. I've finshed the front of the roof and have started down the sides. I'll get some pics on soon but i'm having problems with pics at the moment.
I'm having to cut about two inches below the gutter and six above, so it a big chunk coming out. I'm doing it in sections so I don't distort it too much.
Pics to follow.

Hi all, Some pics of the roof.

I made a big mistake with the roof repair section. I offered it up and marked out the roof and then cut the old rusty section away. When I offered up the repair section it wouldn't fit as it overlapped the roof. I cut away about another 2mm and welded the section in. Only after I had done this I noticed the repair section lip was resting on a blob of weld in the gutter section

It meant that the lip wouldn't sit in the gutter, it wouldn't pull down. I had to cut a small section out of the rear roof bar to bring it all down. 2mm doesn't sound like much but it has completley changed the slope of the rear corner of the roof. Thankfully the other side went ok.

Roof is now completed except for the two rear corners, I want to get the corner windows done before I do the gutter rail over the rear door.

. I've cut the rear corner out which was very bad, it had rotted from the inside out so it did'nt look to bad from the outside but stabing small blisters in the paint revealed holes.

. I've managed to get hold of two rear complete corners for a late Bay. The panel has the later square light hole but I wont use it. The window frames are a bit taller so i will need to reduce them to fit. Not looking forward to it as it looks very complicated. The corner i'm doing first is the easier one as the panels on the inside look ok. The other side is rotten
