A new set of '63-'67 taillight housings with trim, seals and US-spec' lenses should be on it's way soon!

Have removed the radio, as I think the security risk far outweighs the pro's of having a radio in the buggy, what with the noise and all.

Took the buggy to somebody who know a bit more of the Beetle world than I do, and he will be doing his magic to sparkle it up a bit, and to check on all the parts that might need to be repaired or replaced, now and in the future.

The motor was very quickly removed, revealing lots of rust and dirty oily bits.






So on Saturday, we went to Flat Four Racing to have a look at wight might be on offer, as, amongst others, I was looking for a quieter exhaust than the current trumpets. Found the exhaust, and also found a lot of other stuff, that mysteriously found their way into my car boot!







This might look like the whole Empi catalogue, but seems it's only scratching the surface...my wallet couldn't handle more at the moment. Maybe in a couple of months time... then this will most definitively be on the shopping list!



Complete kit with all wiring and accessories for a decent (I think) price.

The motor will be cleaned and spruced up, as well as the rear suspension and gearbox. I bought a pair of mirrors to replace the current set, which does not show anything but the rear tyres. The buggy will most probably be done in about two weeks time, so will post more pics then.

The 63-67 tail lights have arrived, still in two minds if it should be fitted now, or next year when the body work gets done.

"We had a sneek peak at all your parts on Saturday afternoon." Now that sounds weird, but I would have loved to buy more! FFR is like an Aladdin's cave, full of treasure, and you just want it all! Unfortunately I have to keep the budget in mind, but a follow-up visit next year is definitively on, especially for that instrument cluster.

I can now fully understand the saying: "I hope my wife does not sell my car for what I told her it cost!"

as far as sound security go, i came across a gadget that fits in ur cigarette lighter and u just tune it in to ur radio station for signal. so u can play radio stations aswell as mp3 music. just hide ur fronloader under the seat.
u will not get away from loosing alot of sound in these cars. extra power and correct direction of sound will help

That FFR instrument cluster is cool, but it is really not that difficult to make your own - the only limit is your imagination! It will mean so much more to you if you do it yourself, and as a buggy is normally open, it is also one of the first features seen closeup. A few ideas, the top one is from HW2

Hay Loopy...Where about is Flat Four Racing? They have a website but doesn’t seem to be working so battling to get their details

Pine I'm looking at doing mine again. Where did you get your clocks from.....Also need a new dash as with mine the previous owned enjoyed drilling and putting all sort of stupid switches in the dash as a result it needs to be replaced

Flat Four Racing is in Cape Town and are basically the agents for Volkspares. Therefore just just need to get to Volkspares in Jet Park and you will find all the goodies that Loopy found.

Speak to Garin or Ivan, they are always willing to work out better pricing

Not much if any, F4R is not really an agent for Volkspares, they order and import together in batches. AFAIK anyhow.
