DOODLE is that who he is ??? will get a kick in the but soon, well.... hopefully.
Yep, named doodle after the first owner. Used to doodle with a pen and pencil all over it as well as do some quotes and calcs !!!

Enjoy bud, if you need a hand we should organize a spanner party

Yep seems to be getting harder to find a decent low light bay now a days.....

Think we should stock up

These are the two that are on my list this year.

I have been procrastinating over this for quite some time but decided I really want to get my 59 split on the road. It will just make such a story considering its rescue a year ago now. First thing is to get suspension to get it rolling that I can get it into the garage to get started.

This was what I was initially keen for was my old series 2 Land Rover, it runs well but needs attention to the door frames which are rusted at the bottom and some small rust on the firewall plus all the rattles and leaky doors etc. etc. I want to do a complete strip down and rebuild that Tonia and myself can comfortably hit the road with it and do a lekker rough 4x4 trip but decided it will wait till I can get the 59 rolling.

tropical roof on that landy?

My plan is to get my dc closer to stock by going back to the original wheels and sorting the bumpers. Just need new hubcap clips rivetted on - anyone know who does this?
The fasty may get the rostys for a while to wear down the tyres... no plans for the fasty after the new engine last year.

This year, I plan to finish my project and get het on the road legal...

- Buy new alternator - current one is giving me the warning light
- Install my burgundy soft top roof ;-)
- Find a heater and demister for the car
- Sort out the engine once and for all, she does not seem too happy, need a mechanic
- Sort out the car's stance - need her level, the back is a bit high
- Sort out the suspension - wobbly as hell, thanx for the advice I got from acvwsa forums
- Build a center console
- Fit radio
- Fit alarm
- Fit Tracker
- Replace current tyres / rims with 15"s
- Figure out if I can get the fenders/ wheel arches expanded $$$$$

Aaaaaahhhhhhhh, I am so far from finishing this thing...

Thanks once again Paul and Jean. This is most kind of you! :drunks: :hangloose:

This is a real head start to my 59 project. I can't wait to get it on the road. :D

I am going to be there ASAP to collect that van. I have twisted my old man's arm to make some space at his factory to store one of my other cars, so I have a space waiting for it in the garage! Ready to start ASAP.

Looking at lowering the bay and the SC. SC was previously lowered and easier to lower it again to get it tracking right than sort all the issues out with the rear suspension. The bay needs to be lower, not pavement sucking, but lower to get it in the garage with the rack on and leaving the brick work and paint in place. Will just make it more user friendly for all.

The SC might get some tilt and bows if I get the time as well.

The bug is going off to be assessed for new floor pans on both sides and a refresh of the paint.

Other than that not much..... Unless we find another bus ;)

I have two buggy bodies

One is a Kestrel which is in better condition but I do not like it becuase of the front window which is, A: too high and B: i do not like the triangular window sides that close you in ( I have all the glass for the windows

The other one is similar the the yellow one that is in the broshure that Pine found at Piston ring and posted, but the body is in need of some TLC

Matching ports, lapping valves, repairing some rust, fitting a new gasket set & electric fuel pump & attend the MWM 2012 in July in Zvolen.
