How easy is the Type 3 to live with as a daily driver? One day, when tfrn (that freakin red notch) is finished, I might want to use it as a retro delivery vehicle, perhaps brand it a little (we don't deliver heavy stuff). Is this plausible or is it just wishful thinking? Don't want to struggle with a car every other day when you have a lot of work to do....

I drive my Square to work about once a week, keeps up with traffic fine and always turns heads.

it is great other than been a bit heavy on juice, got it up to 85mph the other day, would do more but ran out of road, turns heads everywhere i go, get at least 3 offers to buy it every week.it has never dropped me, other than running out of fuel, gauge is faulty, need a new sender, i love it a little skittish in fast corners but real fun.

i need to get the carbs sorted out then it will be better on fuel and hope fully get rid of its flat spot.

And if you have a Type 4 in there, it's even more fun!

Mine is running pig rich, need to rebuild the carbs, but still has enough torque so it's quite cool to drive

Mine has a solid and stiff ride, but is very comfortable (lowered 2 splines in front) - Only if you hit a bump or dip in the road do you really suffer

@ ricky, you can use a variant, fasty or a notch, once cut they will look very similar or that 412 that is for sale by VW oldies

mine was in an accident where it slid into a free and bent the roof, the PO could not find a roof so decided to hack it in stead of scrapping it.

Built a bakkie out of a DKW station wagon once. Will post pics if anybody is interrested. Lots of work though.

A Notch won't work as a bakkie conversion, unless you add the side vents of a Fastback or Squareback
