Looking at the bug's body shape I'm begining to think that my bug must have been a Manx as well ???
The stanard Beamish canopy had to be widened at the back and lengthened to fit
Also the battery is inside the vehicles bodywork under the back seat and not on the outside like a Beamish
The nose and general shape looks identicle to mine especially the nose and side profile
However no name plate to show hat it is a Manx ??

@ Alants - looking at your photies seems it could be a Manx she does look very similar - maybe Pine could confirm
JA got the front badge but alas the model plate is missing seems like there are some holes for were it was in the footwell front of the passenger side

Nice buggy.... Love the roof... Reminds me of an old play mobil toy when I was a kid (mmmmmm..... Think I maybe still one of those)
Red for a buggy is always a good option, if it was an early bay it would have been either ruby red or montana red. The ruby red has deeper dusty red shade to it.
If you throw in the towel on it then you know who to give a shout

Possibly Ruby will have a look on the bus plates to see if there is a paint code
Throwing in money no towels at this stage
Spoke with Vader seems hes found some window stuff that is better than perspex much stronger and can be heat set - will find out what the stuff is called
The idea is to shape some of it for the rear window
Spoke to our local light guys here cause I want to loose the spots
Hella made a chrome headlight for buggies with dim and bright and park - these were know as beach buggy lights - hopeing to tract some dusty ones down as I dont believe they are made any more
will post this up on the wanted zone and see what comes up
Progress at this stage is
Stripped off the hand brake from the pan and the inner pipes and tubes inside the tunnel
When the guys shortened the pan they just cut thru the whole lot - will replace all the tubes and have them come out at the correct place - previous post about the clutch cable and tube
- got some irrigation grommets from 17 mm - 32 mm that will do pefect to seal at the back of the pan Clutch - fuel and accelerator

Well slowly getting started
Had a real tired steering wheeel
Only bit i liked was the horn button
5 bolts holding the wheel onto a piece of cast that fits the splines
Splines and cast realy stuck together so before I damage the cast that the horn fits into
Off to the scrapyard
1 x steering wheel from a mazda 323 for free
Machine out the id to match the cast drill some holes and presto
In a weird kinda way the spokes look a bit vw
clean up and spray and I have the start of the cockpit
Realy like that horn button
She will come real nice with some waterpaper and a cleanup on the cast bits
Here it is before

Well did some spitt and pollish on thestreering hub
Had a we bit of an issue getting it off from the splines
This is what I love about this game
RESPECT
Seems so many people have forgotten this
I think an added portion of respect is given when you are restoring something
I had already cut the wheel to fit the hub and realy liked the horn insert that fits the hub
So here I stand with hammer in hand and am just about to MOER the thing off when ahaa bright idea
Dont do it its cast and will break off then all the work is %$#&#@%#$#@
So an old bearing as a drift a wee bit of breakfluid in on the spline hub joint -set aside for a bit then clamp and respectfully hammer him loose - end result no damage other than the previous knocks it had recieved
A little wire bushing and some filling flat and then the face treated with some progressive water paper - ending with some 1200
Very happy with the end result
