You could run the speedtest here:

If you speed is normal it might be your browser/PC/
If you speed is sub-normal it is your ISP/
I get 2,97Mbps

Looks like the site is slow some times
Your current bandwidth reading is:
354.10kbps
which means you can download at 44.26 KB/sec. from our servers

The site isn't slow, it would be your connection that has an inconsistent speed.
If the site was slow I would see excessive load on the site.

eben quite intresting stuff.
I see the 443kbps is 59 Kb/s which is not bad on a 1mb line (I got 775kbps this moring.) IT all depents on the site, isp and network traffic.
Bugger what type of internet connection do you have? adsl(384 -4mb)/3g/hsdpa/dailup?

I just tested my cell's hsdpa speed. got 1.5Mbps that is 199Kbps( 1mb file would take 5.14s to download)
Adsl isp defintely has an effect.
Eben where is ACVW server based? RSA or UK?

I got normal ADSL
So when I call Telkom to get my line sorted how can I check the line is properly right when the Techincian is here ?

try pinging your isp.
eg start run cmd.
typy ping
http://www.telkomsa.co.za or .net and press enter. you wil then see the.response time in milli sec. it shouldnt be more than 1k ms.
can other also comment here?
