...and it's a T25 - NOT a "Type 25", produced from September '78 onwards. :)

Jajaja I do know what a vanagon is. :)

I just think it's a horrible word and another Americanism we can live without.

It gets worse....

One of my favourite Hot Wheels models is this one, a 1982 Volksiebus Camper - called a SUNAGON

It has an elevating roof, and a motocross bike mounted on the rear bumber. It was also available in orange.

The reason I would stay away from those particular Type of engines is
The late bus was very heavy and those engines just got worn out They are almost always so far worn that they require a line bore (earlier type fours almost never require a linebore.
The breather stand is cast shut thus making a conversion fit is virtually impossible
The casings had bubbles. casting imperfections etc

Dont get ne wron I am a Certified type four fan Those engines are just the worst of the bunch (the heads though can be modified more than the earlier types
And then When some of those rebuilders got hold of them WATCH OUT it might not even be a 2 liter any more.

As for parts from Audis etc
The Audi 80 and the Beetle shared CV joints
Interior lights and switches
Seats in SA production
Headlight switches
Headligts on some models
The 924 Porsche which originally was a Audi Coupe used Type 1 trailing arms torsion bars lights front suspension of the super beetle

Thanks for the info Impi.
I suppose I will learn soon enough if it's worth rebuilding once it's stripped.
If all else fails, what are the cases made of :?:
Do they BURN  :jumping: like the one at Figs'
