That is very steep for that car, In my opinion its worth between R20000 - R25000.AKG1600 wrote:The question is would it make the journey.![]()
From the brief inspection I made, there appears to be front suspension issues. What exactly I couldn't say. The sales folk couldn't tell me anything useful at all.
They're asking US$8,000.00. What's a fair price? I didn't think so at all, but being the lowly ranked member I am, I thought it prudent to refer to the forum for guidance.

Re: Sighted In Harare...
I saw those which is why I thought the asking price was somewhat heavy. Also, from what I've been experiencing with my own KG project, $8k is a bit of a smack when one considers all the other work required to get one of these into presentable condition. Nevermind wanting to get it to show room standard.
Even if one doesn't go the whole nine yards, it's a fair wack to spend on what will essentially be a hooptie (jalopy).
I'm one of those cats that believes for a KG to be enjoyed and appreciated, one must bring it as close as possible to looking new; otherwise it's just another 'old car'. And if it is just another 'old car', then why spend that kind of money on it?
Just my perspective...

The jam jar is on its las legs to be honest. Well at least the motor is anyway. Also bear in mind that the economics aren't particularly charitable to the locals here, so will find that that sort of thing is the norm. Toug times I'm afraid.

Sure thing Gov'nor. If you could furnish me with details as I'm no guru on Golfs I'd be happy to be on the lookout.Blitzkrieg wrote:Please let me know if you come across any 2 door Golf Mk3's which are being broken for spares...I need a few parts

Good day Volks!
Today I spotted this pristine 1974 Beetle with 1600TP motor. The Rostyles don't look too shabby either.
US$3500.00(negotiable) is the asking price. I'd consider taking it myself but I'm a Ghia man on the hunt for a Low Light.
Cheers!

No doubt, but that can be easily taken care of. I must say this is easily the cleanest Beetle I've seen round here ever! Whoever owns it must have really loved it.Tony Z wrote:fk thats neat!!!

Very nice indeed! But that is nearly R31500? Maybe I should stop thinking in Rand terms!AKG1600 wrote:Good day Volks!

Is R31,500.00 alot to ask for a Beetle in this sort of condition?

Apparently not! I found numerous "restored" Beetles in the R30K to R50K price range and even one at R72000!AKG1600 wrote:

Re: Sighted In Harare...
As the Beetle is upper end quality, it's on the button for upper end price.
That said, if the mechanics are right.
