 It's amazing how photos make a scrap heap look like something quite presentable - that single cab really was a heap of rust, I reckon the front bumper was usable and perhaps the rims and some interior bits - the rest - was vrot - everything, floors, dropgates, chassis, doors - the whole lot. It did'nt go to a scrapyard, the guy who bought it is a panel beater and he had some plans to restore it .....

Dave you dog, now the secret is out - congrats dude :hangloose: :hangloose: :hangloose: :hangloose: :hangloose: Hows the interior ? Have you got a gearbox and motor ?
Great to hear that there is no serious rust, well apart from the floor that is, have fun china - when can we come around ? What else do you need for it ?

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

I really thought this was where this thing was going to go, I did advertise here on the forum, I would have taken under a R1 000 for it, but no one replied.

I put it on Gumtree and some moegoe took it for R5k in the end. WTF? This is the most rotten car I have ever seen, it was completely covered in fibreglass and pop riveted galvanised sheeting. The buyer assured me he was going to fix it, but I was glad in end, I still have my doubts that this thing will be fixed properly though.

All windows out. Both front doors off. Started with the long, tiresome rub down.

Pics will follow

Why did you not come and take it away then? I offered it here on the forum for more than 2 months.!!!!!!. Besides HR, nobody else came to check it out.

AND FOR THE LAST TIME, IT WAS A ABSOLUTE WRECK!!!!!

Just a quick update.

After 35 years of service (which happened last Wednesday for me) we are given a MASSIVE paycheck as a thank you for sticking it out with the company I am with. They also let you spend R5k of the money through the company as a tax saving. So this morning I was out shopping and came home with 2 sets of 165/80/15 tyres for my aircooleds. (for those who struggle with maths, that's 8 tyres.) :)

When I got home I just stored them in the Fugly. As I opened the garage I noticed the Fugly was parked nose first with a great big silencer sticking out the back.

This means only one thing, the Fugly is MOBILE.

So Squire you got your wish as the Fugly is running with a type 4 motor.

Probably get an update from my son tomorrow and also some pictures
