Do you have any left? If so, I'll take one.

I've been using this for a while now but was never able to tell what the actual oil temp was. My indicator arm is always at a 90degree position to the overheating mark. It has gone past the 90degree mark but not by too much.
Yesterday I played with some oil in a pot and a thermometer. The overheating trigger will go off at about 120C and the position it usually is when driving is between 80-85C. Is that ok or am I starting to go too cold ?

This little device has saved me once already, a good buy

Donovan the ideal is between 90 and 110. This is according to Rotax who build the aircraft engines

I saved one of these for my Bus motor, and this is off the literature in the package.

" By simply replacing your original dipstick with our Hot Oil Sensor, then attaching an 18" wire (included with the kit) to the oil pressure switch, you immediately begin to monitor your engine's oil temperature.
Now you finally know when your engine is running too hot !

From this point forward the light at the bottom of your odometer serves two functions. While continuing to monitor your oil pressure it now provides the data from your Hot Oil Sensor as well. Now, when your engine oil reaches 225 degrees F (107 * C) the light will begin to flicker, indicating that you are approaching an unsafe operating temperature. Simply reduce your speed and the light will typically stop flickering, indicating your oil temperature has fallen to a safe operating temperature once again.

If your oil temperature continues to rise to 235 degrees F (113* C) the light will remain on, solid. This is the temperature at which we recommend pulling over at the first safe opportunity in order to investigate the issue. "

Hi Muds, please pkease can you reserve one for me too please, this is almost identical to the Gene Berg oil temp dipstick i have and works fantastic, i've always tried to find one again as GB doesn't make em anymore!

I will order these again once the Rand recovers.

The cost to get one to South Africa, landed, is around R800 each. Exactly double what I sold it for in 2013.
