New synchros, seals and bearings. New booties. Didn't go for the longer 4th gear.

Another question on the 356 - when the box was removed to be Bugger'd we noticed that the PO had trimmed the bracket that runs below the gearbox. The ends had been cut and the small bolts not used.
Anybody with a suggestion about why this could have been done?

For this type of work: New synchros, seals and bearings and longer 4th gear, what is one looking at in terms of ZARs ?
I love car parts, I love money...one of these takes money the other brings happiness...

Boxes came in at around R3k for everything except the longer 4th gear. Bugger should be able to advise on the 4th gear option.

Mustang Sally got a good deal as I forgot to charge the labor to strip and assemble the shafts of both boxes but that is my loss his score that will teach me
Recon Box is R2400 excl M/shaft bearing and Revers gear they are extra if I need to replace them then the Longer 4th is R1850 extra to supply and fit when I do the reconditioning of the Transmission then remove and replace of axle tubes and axles are R950 + Axle boots side shaft seal kits with new bearings axle spacer gaskets and that is it
PM Me for more info or call me on 082 600 8663 VdubTECH Bugger Transmissions

Almost forgot to thank Bugger for his Alzheimer's episode - same illness of forgetfulness.
Feedback on the bracket: We replaced with normal bracket, all the bolts and new mountings all round and raised engine by at least 2-3 cm! Hopefully the booties rubbing through will now be a thing of the past.
