That is Retrovan's very cool VW Type 3 Fastback.

Look at my T316 thread for the sedan or ponton or 3 box version... Notchback

The squareback is the stationwagon. Many different car manufacturers use their own special names for their station wagon versions:

VW Variant (including the Type 3, Type 4 and the Golf 4 and 5 stationwagons) Saab also uses Variant.
Audi Avant
Mercedez Estate
BMW Touring
Citroen Break
Opel Caravan

So then it is safe to say that I have a Type 3 Fastback
It is the same as Retrovans one

Yess it is exactly the same only it has the same bumpers as the variant last pic
I have spare from two of these vehicles one being an earlier model

I have taken the overrides off my bumpers to get a "cleaner" look, I feel it looks better without, on the Fastback, not so bulky.

Yes I agree it does look better I will be doing the same if I decide to build the fastback
