Well, after about 2 weeks i eventually had some time today to do a few things on my bug 
Cleaned up the ugly looking silver aircleaner, modified to take the GUD filter, and sprayed it black.
Made the special tool needed to remove the inner nut on the oil fill unit and removed it, had 2 small cracks in the bottom, TIG welded it up, and after cleaning the inside up properly replaced the gasket and re-fitted. Also removed genie and mounting to install the anti splash plate the correct way.
sorted now. Rerouted the fuel line from the very hazardous route it was just above the exhaust to where it should be with stainless steel tubing all the way to the pump.
The plan is to start with the fibreglass work on custom dash tomorrow.
Done for today, as we having a bit of a pardy tonight
will post some pics soon
