Re: SA Built crossover Westy
I can't see the pic at work, but since we've proved the bus was SA-assembled, the VIN plate on the bulkhead doesn't tell us much beyond year model. What is the 3rd digit on the VIN?

Re: SA Built crossover Westy
The 9 in front of the VIN is unusual and may refer to its factory camper spec. Ignoring the 9, your VIN belongs to a 1975 kombi. So, if your camper kit is original to the bus then it tells us that the "Kamper" model offered in 1974 continued into the 1975 model year.
The 234 at the top of the plate refers to a RHD kombi with load doors left. The 4-digit number on the top right seems to be a sequential production code.
From Dawie, the 67/67 on the middle line means brown vinyl interior with brown side panels. 140 at the beginning of the middle line is likely the paint code.

Re: SA Built crossover Westy
Wow guys, thank you so much. To my knowledge (and this bus has been in the family since bought new) it is the original camper kit. The 67/67 also makes sense as this is indeed the finishing. I am assuming the 140 then would refer to the white/red combination.
Again, thanks for the expert advise.
