I'm in two minds here. On the one hand I am quite passionate about keeping things as original as possible. (That's why I do target shooting with 1860s technology muzzle loaders). On the other the green is really boring and the orange would be much more striking. At the end of the day you pay a load of money for a decent re-spray and you are the one shelling out the cash and who will need to live with the colour once you are done.

Go for the colour that gives you the most pleasure. That is why you are doing it in the first place.

Maybe brake the green a bit like this

Thanks for all the input. Decided to just leave the body work for now, as it needs new rubbers all round I'll first get everything together and do some more thinking on changing the colour in the interim.
In the mean time we'll just enjoy the bus because believe or not I have not driven this bus myself for more than 5km, a friend of mine drove it home after I bought it and its been standing ever since, just doing bits and pieces to it like overhauling the front suspension, brakes and redoing the seats. Still need to get a new pop top tent and curtains.

That is more or less what it looks like at the moment, except my rims is also white.

That Green looks good, seems to fit that kombi very well.

I say make it the colour you want , almost any modification done to any vw can be reversed if you throw enouge money at it, most important is to have the budget a colour change is allot of work and you will def find things you don't like when you start taking it apart .That's were you have to have the budget/patients/skills to fix the thing need fixing and maybe have something left to spend on "nice to have's". I think, if done right your colour choice done to that bus would add to the value even if its not OG.

Thats way I decided to hang on for now and first collect all the rubbers etc. that I need and if I change the colour it would be done properly with an original VW colour of the era.
